College of Charleston REACH Program

The R.E.A.C.H (Realizing Educational and Career Hopes) Program at the College of Charleston is a four-year inclusive non-degree seeking program for students with mild intellectual disabilities.  The purpose of the program is to provide the opportunity for all students to realize their intellectual and personal potential and to become responsible, productive members of society.  Students in the REACH Program participate in the academic, residential, social, and cultural experiences offered by the College with appropriate support for success.

Please browse our website as a way to get to know us more.  We would like to get to know you as well!

If you are a student who is interested in applying for the program, please schedule a visit to campus with us.  Please note that we are not accepting transfer credit from other universities or postsecondary programs at this time.

Are you a typical College of Charleston student?  Think about mentoring.  REACH Program Applications for the 2012-2013 academic year are on our admissions page.  Please complete the application and turn it in to Edie Cusack.

REACH Program planning and development has been supported by a three-year grant from the College Transition Connection (2009-2012).  Further program development and enhancement has been made possible by a Model Comprehensive Transition and Postsecondary Program for Students with Intellectual Disabilities (TPSID) Grant from the Department of Education (2010-2015). The REACH Program has 501(c)(3) exemption status as a non-profit organization.
